Look - its a new post

Wow.  Ive been hard at work with our production project and forgot to post my blog :)  Well, in regards to our current production project, Im learning a few things the hard way.  I have chosen Wordpress to display my work with, and while it is better than Tumblr (Sorry Tumblr, i still love ya baby) in some respects, I am having problems with other things that I would like to do that just arent working.  For example, Worpress allows you to create pages, which is fantastic as it creates a great way of presenting things in a taxanomic fashion, but unfortunatly Worpress then doesnt allow you to post to those pages, so at the end of the day Im sort of stuck with a single page that cant be tagged etc

The next thing Ive found is the Flickr widget that they give you to use is also very limited, in that it will only post a set amount of photos from a particular photostream on Flickr.  You cant assign specific sets to be displayed and you cant actually place the widget in a page or post, only on the sidebar.

All of these factors, and more, have led to quite a bit of frustration, and have changed the way that i would have liked to present my project.  But as with anything, its given me a good understanding of what another platform is capable of.  I hope to have the results of this up to show you all in the near future.

As for our lecture on Folksonomy and Taxonomy last week, I found it really very interesting and had given me some great ideas on how I wanted to present my project, now its just darn technology that stands in my way!  ha!

I also found it really interesting in regards to the part about sites like “Delicious” and how you could look at someones page and the tags that they have on their page and tell a lot about the person they are, interests they have etc.
